Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas has admitted the Champions League is an "obsession" - and insists they will overcome Tottenham.
Casillas says their quarter final with Spurs is now like a cup final after their league defeat to Gijon at the weekend left Europe as Real Madrid's best hope of success.
Spain No.1 Casillas said: "The Liga is very complicated for Real Madrid because the Champions League is our obsession. Nothing else is sufficient for a club like Real Madrid.
"What happened in the league looks decisive but our big challenge is to progress in Europe. That is so important to us."
Casillas says Tottenham will be a major threat but insists Real Madrid will be good enough to get through - even if Cristiano Ronaldo is not fully fit.
He added: "We can win games without Cristiano, no matter how good a player he is. It was a setback to lose to Gijon but now we can change things.
"Tottenham are a good team, especially in attack. They are not just about Rafael van der Vaart. Peter Crouch has been very good in Europe and Aaron Lennon has great pace."
