Stale Solbakken last night admitted his FC Copenhagen team need a "miracle or two" to overcome Chelsea.
Solbakken takes his side to Stamford Bridge having lost the first leg 2-0 but the Danish team's coach was in jovial mood ahead of the return.
"We need a miracle or two. We're in a very, very difficult situation," said Solbakken. "We've not been at our best since the break, not been able to get our level back since Christmas.
"But we're going for it. We'll play our normal game. For us, it won't matter if we score in the last 10 minutes or the first 10 minutes.
"We had five or six great counter-attacking chances in the first leg. But we'll try to score the first goal and we must think positively. If Sunderland can score three, we can score two."
Solbakken said he hopes defender Mikael Antonsson will be fit despite him pulling a muscle in his backside.
"His heart is good, but his arse is not so good," smiled Solbakken. "We will try to give him another 24 hours.
"We're still in the competition so we want to give him as much opportunity as possible."
Copenhagen's former Chelsea winger Jesper Gronkjaer added: "It will be like a walk down memory lane for me. We know we didn't play as well as we could in the first leg but we still have time to put that right.
"It's important that we fight to the end. There are different ways to go out of a tournament and we want to go out in a good way."
