Chelsea want to nick Inter Milan whizz-kid Mario Balotelli off former manager Jose Mourinho.
The striker, 18, is rated highly by new Inter boss Mourinho but is in a contract dispute with the Italian club.
Chelsea missed out on Robinho, and with Didier Drogba injured, they are short of cover. Italy Under-21 star Balotelli impressed scoring seven goals in 14 Serie A games last season.
