Villas-Boas: I know I'll be sacked if we don't win

Andre Villas-Boas last night admitted the reality of life at Chelsea as he conceded he'll be fired if he is not a winner from day one.
The 33-year-old former Porto boss was unveiled at Stamford Bridge as Carlo Ancelotti's successor and the seventh Blues boss of owner Roman Abramovich's reign.
Ancelotti was sacked 12 months after winning the first domestic Double in the club's history, joining a list of managers jettisoned for the crime of not winning the title or the Champions League.
And a realistic Villas-Boas, who has signed a three-season deal worth £6.2million-a-year, expects a similar fate if he does not deliver his side of the bargain.
"The expectations of the club are to the maximum and we have to bring a certain amount of trophies," he said. "That's the challenge we face day by day, in any business.
"Everybody wants to thrive and be the best and win something, to be successful.
"But the expectations for this club, you know what they are. The manager who sits in this chair, who have in the last seven years, have been challenged to provide trophies.
"What you expect from this club is to be successful straight away. I expect to be successful - to win straight away, on a weekly basis. There's no running away from that challenge. That's what I face.
"I'd be surprised to be kept on if I don't win. It's something that is expected from me. I have to be successful.
"If I cannot challenge myself to be successful, I have failed. I want to win. It's pretty clear for a club of this dimension. Who expects to stay as Chelsea manager if they don't win anything?
"But I want to be a winner. That's the challenge I promote to myself and my technical staff. There's nothing new that the owner told me - just to challenge in every way for every trophy. That's the challenge at a club like this, United or Arsenal. They all face that challenge for trophies."
Villas-Boas declined to be drawn on specific transfer targets but did hint that Spurs midfielder Luka Modric, Benfica left-back Fabio Coentrao and Colombian goal-machine Radomel Falcao from former club Porto would fit his bill.
He added: "You know the kind of moves this club does.
"With the top quality you can get at this club, you can move for the best players in the world. That's what we do if we have the necessity.
"Modric, Falcao and Coentra are interesting players, and if they can add to the squad, then we will look at things.
"At the moment, we're stopped in time. It is a case of everyone in first, then decision making. The main thing is to consider and value what we have at the club."
