Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa fears he could be out for a month after being told he needs surgery on his troublesome knee.
Bosingwa saw a specialist in Porto this week about his left knee which has kept him out for the past two weeks and been troubling him all season.
The Portugese full-back has been advised to have surgery which would keep him out of Chelsea's title push for the next four weeks and his country's World Cup play-off with Bosnia.
Bosingwa, 27, will now discuss whether to go under the knife with Chelsea's medical staff who gave him the green light to get independent advice.
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has quality cover in Juliano Belletti and also Branislav Ivanovic in the right-back slot.
Bosingwa said: "The decision is up to the doctors and I accept the best solution."
