Chelsea have moved to tie up Joe Cole and Ashley Cole on new long-term contracts.
Skipper John Terry revealed he pledged his future to the club after owner Roman Abramovich made assurances of big signings and fresh contracts to keep the top stars.
England midfielder Joe Cole, recovering after knee surgery, has started talks on a deal which will ensure he stays despite interest from Spurs.
Stamford Bridge chief executive Peter Kenyon has also acted to secure left-back Ashley Cole who has two years left on his contract. He is likely to be offered £90,000 a week.
Abramovich has targeted Bayern Munich striker Franck Ribery, although he may stay in Germany for another year to clinch his dream move to Real Madrid.
But Chelsea are doing their best to retain key personnel. Terry is set to become their top earner with an improved £150,000-a-week deal. Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka are set to sign new deals.
