Chief Exec Alistair Mackintosh quits Manchester City

Manchester City chief executive Alistair Mackintosh has left his post after paying the price for backing axed boss Sven Goran Eriksson.
Mackintosh, who at 37 was the Premier League's youngest chief executive, quit City yesterday after 12 years at the club. His exit follows the arrival of Garry Cook as their new executive chairman.
While City owner Thaksin Shinawatra wanted Eriksson out and eventually got his wish, Mackintosh was the lone voice on the board who felt the Swede did not deserve to go after just one season in charge.
