Cobblers swoop for Slowe

Northampton have completed the signing of 21-year-old midfielder Alistair Slowe on a one-year contract.

The right winger has joined from Cypriot club Onisilos Sotira subject to international clearance and was previously playing in Ghana.

Manager Ian Sampson said: "Alistair is a young player with a hunger and desire to make the most of the opportunity we have offered him. We are looking to give a chance to young players and we are pleased he will be joining us. He is a right-sided midfielder and a player we can work with to develop. He is not the finished article yet but he has potential and good technical ability. He gives us something in an area where we were looking to add and is a welcome addition."

He added: "Because he has been abroad he has slipped under the radar a little but we are happy to give him the opportunity and take a bit of a chance with him."
