Soccer ace Cristiano Ronaldo has become a dad after a fling with a woman he met in America, it was claimed yesterday.

A shock announcement appeared on the former Manchester United star’s official website claiming he had become a father to a baby boy.

But later the message disappeared, leading to claims that Ronaldo had been the victim of a hoaxing hacker.

The footballer’s godfather Fernao Sousa said he had heard nothing about the baby.

Speaking from his home in Madeira, Mr Sousa said: “I haven’t heard anything about it. It is news to me.”

The announcement appeared in English and Portuguese in the early hours of yesterday on the 25-year-old Real Madrid striker’s website, Twitter and Facebook pages.

It said: “It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become a father to a baby boy.

“As agreed with the baby’s mother, who prefers to have her identity kept confidential, my son will be under my exclusive guardianship.”

Later his girlfriend Russian underwear model Irina Shayk posted on her Facebook page the message: “My boyfriend is, now, the father of a boy”.

Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha said the baby’s mother is from the US and gave birth at the beginning of June. It also claimed the player's management company had confirmed the story was true.

Ronaldo’s family are said to be preparing the paperwork to bring the child to Portugal where he will be raised.

In 2009 Ronaldo spent his summer holidays in Los Angeles and Miami after signing for Real Madrid from Manchester United for a world record £80 million.

He was reported to have bedded four women in four days during the trip, having just dumped long-term Spanish girlfriend Nereida Gallardo by text message.

However, it is possible the child may have been conceived around September last year when the star was already playing for the Spanish giants.

Last month Ronaldo he was spotted enjoying a five-day break on a yacht with Russian underwear model Irina Shayk before his unsuccessful World Cup campaign with Portugal.

The couple were pictured on the £50,000-a-week rented boat off the coast of Corsica.

At the time the child was conceived time 21-year-old Italian Raffaella Fico claimed to be dating the footballer.

Ronaldo took Raffaella to an Elton John concert in Lisbon in June 2009.

Months later she claimed she was still dating the star and had met his family.

But Ronaldo never commented on the supposed relationship.

The striker, whose side crashed out of the World Cup to Spain last Tuesday, is said to be madly in love with current girlfriend, underwear model Irina Shayk.

And the 5ft 10ins green-eyed beauty recently told friends Ronaldo wanted to have children with her.

Two months ago Ronaldo was at the centre of a pregnancy riddle involving a stunning Spanish model.

Former Miss Spain Maria Jose Suarez was linked to the star after splitting with her boyfriend, tennis player Feliciano Lopez, when she discovered she was pregnant.

The footballer was named in the media as her secret lover, sparking speculation he was the father of the child.

But she denied sleeping with Ronaldo and last week it emerged she had tragically lost her baby.

Maria Jose is one of many women Ronaldo has been linked to in the past two years.

A 21-year-old Spaniard called Naya claims to have had a one-night stand with Ronaldo in February this year.

She said she bedded the footballer three times in a hotel suite after he pulled a packed of condoms out of his Dolce & Gabanna cowboy boots.

Other women who have been linked to Ronaldo recently include Paris Hilton, Big Brother star Imogen Thomas and US star Kim Kardashian.

His most serious recent girlfriend was Spaniard Nereida Gallardo, who he dated for seven months in 2008 before dumping her by text message.

He then reportedly had flings with Ukrainian beauty Alyona Haynes, Manchester university student Olivia Saunders, Brazilian fitness trainer Gabriela Entinger, 28, LA-based actress Tina Powers, Colombian model Mirella Grisales, 24, and Italian model Letizia Filippi, 30.
