Cristiano Ronaldo facing £20,000 bill for Ferrari crash

Cristiano Ronaldo is facing a £20,000 bill for the damage he caused when he crashed his Ferrari in a tunnel.
The Portuguese star wrote off the £200,000 car as it hit both walls of the tunnel that goes under Manchester Airport. Now airport authorities have written to Manchester United winger Ronaldo via his insurers asking him to pay for repairs to damaged brickwork, buckled railings and a smashed exit door.
A source said: "It's a real double whammy for Ronaldo. He has already lost a £200,000 car and this is another cost to factor in.
Even though he earns a fortune, the accident has proved to be very expensive indeed - especially as he'd only been out in the car a couple of times."
Ronaldo, 23, who crashed on a corner while driving to training last month, was unhurt.
The front of the Ferrari was demolished and one wheel was wrenched off. Police investigators later found brake discs on the car were broken. But experts at Ferrari said the damage was caused by the collision and the car had been in perfect condition.
The tunnel repairs are estimated to cost £20,000 - enough to make a bit of a dent even in Ronaldo's £120,000-a-week salary. Looks like that was the most expensive corner he's ever taken.
