Cristiano fathers baby boy with American and will raise son alone

Criatiano Ronaldo has stunned fans by announcing he had become the father of a baby boy and would be bringing the child up alone.

The Real Madrid winger, a flop with Portugal at the World Cup, is claimed to have sorted a financial deal out with his son's American mother, wityh whom he had a brief affair last year.

Ronaldo posted the shock news on his Facebook page, writing: "It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become a father to a baby boy.

"As agreed with the baby's mother, who prefers to have her identity kept confidential, my son will be under my exclusive guardianship."

Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha claims the baby was born in June to an American woman who Ronaldo met last year. He is still dating Russian model Irina Shayk.
