Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world, says Sir Alex Ferguson

Sir Alex Ferguson last night claimed it would be a travesty if Cristiano Ronaldo was not crowned World and European Player of the Year.
Ronaldo, whose 42 goals last season helped Manchester United to a Premier League and Champions League Double, is favourite for the awards in December.
And ahead of tonight's Champions League clash with Celtic, Old Trafford boss Ferguson said: "I think Ronaldo will win both of them.
"If he doesn't I want to sign the guy who does win them."
Despite his belief Ronaldo will be voted the best player in the world, Fergie is ready to leave him out of the tonight's Group E game at Old Trafford.
The Portugal winger, who had ankle surgery in the summer, is still finding his way back to full fitness.
"Ronaldo played twice for Portugal last week and he's still trying to recovery after the summer," said Ferguson.
"When players have been out for so long after an operation, there's that little reaction to playing all the time.
"Adrenalin can carry you through games, but then your form dips a bit.
"If we had an extra day for him to recover, with him having played Saturday, it would be perfect for us. But maybe we should bring in Nani for this one."
