James Vaughan has landed a hammer blow on Crystal Palace – by breaking his hand when he punched a dressing room wall in anger.
Striker Vaughan was so infuriated by Palace’s home defeat to rivals Scunthorpe United that he took his frustration out in the most painful way.
Now Palace are likely to be without the on-loan Everton hit-man for their crucial run-in, a major loss for manager Dougie Freedman who talked him into the Selhurst switch.
Palace insiders revealed that Vaughan has “suffered a bad one”.
Doctors will take a look at the full damage today – but he is not expected to be available for a month.
