Darren Ferguson blast at Peterborough supremo Barry Fry

Sacked Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson has labelled Barry Fry a liar.
The day after Ferguson was ousted by Posh, director of football Fry claimed Ferguson already had a job lined up before he left London Road.
Fry is convinced the 37-year-old boss had been tapped up to replace Phil Brown as Hull boss at the KC Stadium.
But Ferguson angrily denied Fry’s allegation. He said: “Unfortunately, Barry Fry has today intimated that I already have a new position in place.
“I can categorically confirm that is 100 per cent untrue.”
The drama unfolded last night when Fry spoke out to reveal why Peterborough had axed the manager who earned successive promotions to take the club into the Championship.
The football world was shocked to see him leave the club having only signed a four-year contract in the summer to keep him out of Reading’s clutches.
Fry said: “I think Darren will get a job very soon and my own personal opinion is that he already has one.
“He will get a chance at a big club and he will do very well. There is no doubt about that.
“Every day there is a different club linked with him so he will be all right.
“There will be nobody more delighted if Darren manages a Premier League club successfully than us.”
Ferguson however, dismissed Fry when he went on to thank people at Peterborough but deliberately omitted the director of football.
He added: “These comments have not impacted upon my feelings towards my time at Peterborough United, the players, the chairman and the support.
"Three years ago Kevin Russell and I arrived at Peterborough United, a League Two club; we left yesterday, having taken them to the Championship, and we wish the club all the best for the future."
Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony expects to appoint a successor by the end of the week, and admitted he was disappointed to see assistant Russell follow Ferguson out of the door.
He said: "Kevin 'walked' this morning, and my initial reaction was that he must have another job lined up - because he is a family man. But we will see.
"I know he is very loyal to Darren.
"It is a shame, because he is a great coach, but he didn't want to be considered for the job at all."
