Becks can be a film star says Tom Cruise

It sounds like a Mission: Impossible, but Tom Cruise wants to make a film star out of David Beckham.
Tom, 49, says he’s desperately searching for the right script, telling me: “I’d love to do action movies with Beckham. He would be great, he could kick ass.”
Well, there’s no doubt he can kick.
And he has previous experience. Who can forget his appearances in Goal! And, er, Goal! II.
Although he was strangely overlooked for a part in Bend It Like Beckham.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s UK premiere of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol premiere in London, Tom said: “David would have to teach me to play soccer first.”
The pals, whose wives Katie Holmes and Victoria Beckham are also friends, have hung out together for years.
Their friendship was cemented when Tom sent David, 36, the velvet jacket he wore in Jerry Maguire after finding out he and Victoria saw the 1996 film on their very first date.
A source says: “David has been linked with Hollywood a number of times, but Tom is the only one he’d ever take up, he thinks Tom’s a legend.
“He’d still like to have a sporting element to it. Tom’s a sporty guy, too, so any collaboration would be about something competitive.”
And friends or not, Tom still wants to be the hero.
He previously said of Becks: “He would make a great baddie.”
