Here's David Beckham as you've never seen him before - taking on the British Paralympic team at a blind game of football in his first advert as the new face of Sainsbury's.
In the amazing video below, Becks is seen watching how the visually impaired team train, before being blindfolded and discovering what it's like to play without sight.
The advert is in aid of Sainsburys’ 1 Million Kids Challenge, which encourages children of all abilities to try a Paralympic sport before the 2012 Games.
Beckham is seen fumbling with the ball and struggling to deliver a decent pass as he gets to grips with what life is like for a blind player.
He tries to take penalties by using the voice of the guide behind the goal but misses the first two – with the first one going off to the far left and the second over the bar before nailing a third attempt. Beckham then jokes: “I thought the goalkeepers were shocking.”
Schools can sign up to join the Sainsbury’s Million Kids Challenge, designed to allow kids of all ages and abilities to try out a London 2012 Paralympic sport ahead of the Games in 2012 by visiting www.sainsburys.co.uk/1millionkids/
