David Beckham has taken a pay cut of almost £2million after his company’s earnings plunged.
Turnover fell to £11.4million – down from £15.5million five years ago.
It means the LA Galaxy and England midfielder has been forced to take a big pay cut. Figures show Britain’s richest footballer paid himself £10.8million last year but this year he has taken just over £9million and no dividends.
Profits after tax at his company, Footwork Productions, fell to £15,000 from £800,000 last year.
Footwork gets income from Beckham’s endorsements with companies including adidas.
This week it was revealed that Beckham’s fortune had fallen from £125million to £100million.
