Dean Whitehead set to leave Sunderland

Sunderland captain Dean Whitehead is set to make a surprise exit as part of boss Roy Keane's summer shake-up.

The midfielder has three years left on his contract, but his relationship with Keane is uneasy and he is unhappy at being played out of position.

Premier League new boys Stoke are favourites to land him for £3m.
