While banks are folding as the credit crunch bites, the Premier League is awash with money.
A record-breaking summer of transfers was overshadowed by the trillionaire takeover at Manchester City and the way they stole Robinho from under Chelsea's noses.
Now supporters at every club seem to be hoping they will be next to be catapulted into the realms of football's mega-rich.
But the chaos at Newcastle shows that a buyer who initially seems like the answer to your prayers can quickly turn into a nightmare.
Sunday Mirror columnist Michael Calvin thought the clash of the cash between Manchester City and Chelsea was a poor relation to the genuine rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester United .
And Mirror.co.uk's Dan Silver today writes of his fear that the money pouring into the Premier League could leave teams needing a multi-billionaire owner just to avoid relegation .
