Debate: Is Sepp Blatter right to call Ronaldo a "slave"?
Published 11:38 10/07/08 By By Mirror.co.uk
Good old Sepp Blatter, a man who's seemingly never knowingly opened his mouth without then inserting his foot into it .
Today the illustrious FIFA chief has proclaimed that Manchester United should let Ronaldo join Real Madrid , and condemned the "modern slavery" that keeps players at clubs against their will.
Leaving aside the unpleasant comparison between impoverished individuals pressed into hard labour against their will and young men being paid upwards of £100k per week to play football, what do you think of his comments?
Should footballers be allowed to up and leave a club whenever they feel like it?
Or should the clubs that pay their wages have ultimate say over when they move on?
