Dubai International Capital not interested in buying Newcastle United

Newcastle owner Mike Ashley was left to cast his net wider in the search for a buyer as several potential Middle Eastern investors denied any interest last night.
Ashley flew to Dubai after putting up the club for sale on Sunday. But his trip has yet to pay dividends with the Dubai Investment Group following Dubai International Capital in insisting they have no intention of buying Newcastle.
Wigan owner Dave Whelan, who like Ashley made his money in sports retail, said the 45-year-old should never have bought the club.
"I know Mike Ashley quite well and he is a bit unusual," said Whelan.
"He is a very good retailer but at managing a football club, no. Especially with him being a Tottenham supporter.
"Unless you put your whole heart into it, are 100 per cent Geordie and are backing them, then they will give you some stick. He has got it, and he deserves it."
