Ekici goes out on loan

Bayern Munich have sent midfielder Mehmet Ekici out on loan to Bavarian neighbours Nurnberg for the whole of next season.

The 20-year-old signed his first professional contract with Bayern during the winter break and trained regularly with the first team during the second half of the season, but did not make any appearances despite being on the bench several times.

However, he was a regular in Bayern's reserve team and played 29 times in the third division last season.

He will now bid to gain top-flight match experience with Nurnberg after the two clubs agreed a one-year loan deal.
