Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has signed a new long-term contract at the Emirates.
The Togo striker was a target for AC Milan and Barcelona in the summer as he looked for improved terms with the Gunners.
But the 24-year-old, who had three years left on his old deal, declared ahead of the new campaign that he would be staying in London.
And he has now penned a deal set to keep him at the club until at least 2012 and worth an estimated £80,000 a week.
A statement on Arsenal's website said: "Arsenal can today confirm that Togolese forward Emmanuel Adebayor has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
"Everyone at Arsenal looks forward to Emmanuel's continued contribution to the club over the coming years."
The striker, Arsenal's top scorer last season with 30 goals in all competitions, has been targeted by fans after his summer flirting with a move, and was booed at the Emirates Cup and ahead of Saturday's Premier League season opener against West Brom.
But Gunners boss Arsene Wenger wants fans to get behind Adebayor.
He said: "We have to get behind him and support him because he is a tremendous force and (is of) tremendous importance for the team - you want your own fans to be behind him.
"What happened in the transfer period did not always reflect his deep desire and there was manipulation from agents on both sides, but overall I am positive he will recover." Wenger added: "Every player needs to feel wanted. "I think he is settled in his own mind. He has given a lot in the first two games."
