Bobby Zamora wants to shoot down Darren Bent in the battle to be England’s top gun.
Zamora will start against Sweden tomorrow night and be given his big chance after Bent’s audition against Spain on Saturday.
Fulham striker Zamora admits Bent is king of the gamers in the England squad when it comes to the latest video game craze, shoot-em-up Call Of Duty. But Zamora, 30, set for his second cap, is keen to be England’s top marksman.
He said: “It’s relaxed around the place and I’m enjoying it. Some of the boys have been playing computer games. Benty is not bad at the new Call of Duty.
“It’s nice to be part of that, you try to grow to be part of it and enjoy it. There’s a nice feeling about the camp and it was topped off with a good win. That was a great result for us.
“I’m looking forward to Tuesday, I can’t wait for the opportunity. I’m ready now. I want to play. But you’re training with the best, it’s a good education and then I’ll do my best when the chance comes. Every game does feel like a trial but you have to take your chance and that’s what I intend to do. I want to keep playing well, keep going in the league.
“It’s been a bit up and down for me recently. But you have to work hard and take your opportunities when they come.”
