Jack Rodwell last night claimed England’s next generation are ready to take their Euro 2012 chance.
Everton midfielder Rodwell, 20, was flattered by rich praise from Fabio Capello that he is ready to step up to the senior squad after making his full debut at Wembley. But Rodwell believes Phil Jones, Danny Welbeck and Daniel Sturridge can also take their chance. “If you are good enough you should play. No matter what age I think the manager will see the quality of the player and will go from there.
“The likes of me, Jones, Welbeck and Sturridge and also Jack Wilshere shows there are a lot of promising youngsters.
“It was really proud moment making my England debut – and beating the world champions at Wembley, it was the perfect night all round.”
