Euro 2008: Betfred betting preview - Holland v Russia

Holland v Russia (kick off 7.45pm)
Holland can make their class tell against Russia in tonight's quarter final, and are 8/11 with
Betfred
to maintain their unbeaten record and triumph in 90 minutes.
Marco Van Basten's side have played some fantastic football, and even their second 11 were far too good for Romania when their astute manager rested his key players with this game in mind.
The Dutch have been heavily backed down from an opening price of 5-6 to win tonight, with Russia on offer at 7/2 and the draw 12/5.
The Russians have certainly been the surprise package of this year's tournament, and put up an eye-catching display when easily accounting for Sweden 2-0.
But as far as punters are concerned they will be back offski home after tonight's clash.
"All the big money has been pouring on Holland and after initially going 5-6 we were forced to cut them in to 8/11 due to massive liabilities. They have been the most entertaining side in the competition and with the likes of Van Nistlerooy, Van Persie and Robben chomping at the bit have a potent team of strikers good enough to break down any defence in the world," said Betfred spokesman Dave Metcalf.
"Punters have latched on to Van Nistlerooy in the first goalscorer market and he is 5/1 with us to prove that he is still the man for the big occasion. The other striker being backed due to his Premiership connection is Van Persie at 6/1.
"The key to the game will be whether Holland can get an early goal and make their class tell. If the Russian defence can hold solid for the first half and frustrate the Dutch attackers then we could be in for a nail biting match."
Those who fancy the match to be a draw at half-time and Holland to go on and win the game in 90 minutes can have 7/2 with Betfred.
"It's the most popular choice at the moment, along with a 2-1 Dutch victory at 7/1 and the same scoreline and Van Nistlerooy to score the opening goal at 33/1," added Dave.
