Everton centurion Rodwell: Roll on game 200

Jack Rodwell has celebrated passing the 100-game milestone for Everton - and admitted he hopes he won’t take so long totting up his next ton.
Rodwell clocked up a centenary of appearances in Saturday’s defeat at Chelsea, almost four years on from his debut in a UEFA Cup tie against AZ Alkmaar.
The England Under-21 midfielder has been struck by injuries in that time and says they prevented him hitting 100 games sooner.
“It was a proud moment for me as I had always dreamt of just playing one game for Everton, let alone 100,” said the lifelong Evertonian. “Now I just want to carry on and play another 100 and then 100 more.
“When you say the number it does seem to have happened very quickly, but if you look at it I could have played even more by now.
“Still, it’s a great landmark to reach and I just want to keep on playing and make as many appearances for Everton as possible.”
The 20-year-old is relieved he is still not stuck on 99 appearances, which would have been the case if his controversial red card against Liverpool jad not been rescinded.
“That was in my mind,” said Rodwell. “I’d been in the team and started the season fairly well, so a three-game ban would have been really bad timing. Thankfully the red card was rescinded.”
