Galatasaray have made a surprise £2million move for Lucas Neill.
And Everton are ready to accept the offer for the defender who has been at Goodison for barely three months.
Neill started the season without a club, and is on a short-term contract with the Merseyside club until the end of the season, after arriving as emergency cover for what has been a crippling defensive crisis.
But with defenders Sylvain Distin and Phil Jagileka finally on the mend, skipper Phil Neville back and the emergence of young full back Seamus Coleman and centre back Kieran Agard, Neill could struggle to get many games in the second half of the campaign.
Neill is likely move on at the end of the season, and manager David Moyes is ready to cash in now to get a fee for a player who cost nothing just a few weeks ago.
But the Goodison boss will want to wait until towards the end of the month to complete the deal, when he will have centre half Joseph Yobo back from Africa Cup of Nations duty.
