Exclusive: Alisher Usmanov closing in on Arsenal takeover

Alisher Usmanov is attempting to convince Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith to sell her 15 per cent stake in Arsenal to boost his takeover of the club.
The Russian billionaire believes his considerable wealth will bring stability to the club and provide Arsene Wenger with valuable transfer funds.
Usmanov is currently the biggest shareholder in Arsenal with 24.9 per cent and he is gaining support from some fans who believe his money will enable the club to compete with Manchester United and Chelsea
Bracewell-Smith is a passionate Gunners fan, which is why Usmanov is trying to convince her to sell him the shares needed to surpass 30 per cent to start a takeover bid.
