FA Cup match reports Gillingham to Northwich: The Daily Mirror verdicts

Gillingham 1-0 Burton Albion
The FA Cup dream is still alive for Gillingham as they scraped past Burton thanks to Curtis Weston's strike.
Weston, who is the youngest player to appear in a final after starring for Millwall five years ago, fired home for his seventh of the season.
Gillingham boss Mark Stimson said: "It was a fantastic finish. I said to him at half-time to get forward more and that's what he did. It was a great goal."
Guy Branston, the Burton captain, added: "We only lost by a single goal, so our confidence is still high. I think weíre going to do very well this season."
Hereford 0-1 Colchester
John-Joe O'Toole hit the winner for Colchester as they narrowly escaped a replay with Hereford.
The on-loan Watford midfielder said: "I'm pleased with the goal, but it's fair to say I was due one."
United boss Aidy Boothroyd added: "Hereford are a good team. They tried to pass and move us around and gave us problems, but my players were strong and came through."
John Trewick, the Hereford manager, said: "We didn't deserve to lose."
MK Dons 4-3 Exeter
Jermaine Easter had mixed feelings at seeing Sam Baldock lead an MK Dons revival - because he is keeping him on the sidelines.
In-form Baldock turned things around as the Dons were 3-1 down with 20 minutes to go when he added his second of the afternoon. Martin Devaney was also on target before Easter scored the winner.
Easter said: "It's been frustrating [being on the bench], but Sam has come in and done ever so well."
Barry Corr (2) and Adam Stansfield were on target for unlucky Exeter.
Northampton 2-3 Southampton
Alan Pardew singled out veteran defender Chris Perry for praise as Southampton narrowly beat Northampton.
Saints goals came from Ndiaye Papa Waigo, Adam Lallana and Dean Hammond but Perry turned in an excellent performance.
Pardew said: "You can't do anything at a football club without senior players respecting the discipline in place.
"Some of them, such as Chris Perry, haven't played for a long while, but he showed a brilliant attitude and the young players are learning from him."
Hammond also scored an own goal and Ryan Gilligan claimed the other goal for Northampton from the penalty spot.
Northwich 1-3 Lincoln
Jamie Clarke scored two goals as Lincoln ended Northwich's FA Cup dream.
Plucky Northwich went behind to Chris Fagan's volley before Mat Bailey equalised after the break.
Clarke then added a second before he put the result beyond doubt with a neat finish in the 64th minute.
Lincoln manager Chris Sutton said: "They didn't beat Charlton by a fluke and we're not arrogant enough just to think we can turn up and roll them over.
"I thought on balance we just about deserved it. We were on a hiding to nothing, we'd had a bad week with injuries and suspensions but the boys who came in did well."
