Sports fans have voted a gaffe by John Motson as the funniest in the history of commentating.
Ladbrokes polled 2,000 fans at their current darts championship and the BBC's Motson finished top of the pile on 37 per cent with the line: "For those of you watching in black and white, Spurs are playing in yellow."
Motty was up against tough competition, including BBC radio's Brian Johnston's legendary: "The bowler's Holding, the batsman's Willey" and "She's winning, she's winning.....she's lost" from David Coleman.
Veteran darts commentator Sid Waddell also scored with: "We couldn't have more excitement here if Elvis walked in and asked for a chip sandwich" and "Well as giraffes say, you don't get no leaves unless you stick your neck out."
The poll also invited people to vote for their all-time favourite commentator.
Motorsport legend Murray Walker was crowned No.1 with 45 per cent of the vote.
Nick Weinberg from Ladbrokes.com said: "Whatever the sport, commentators aim to excite and inspire viewers or listeners.
"Sometimes obviously they amuse rather than inspire but we think they are remarkable personalities who should be celebrated."
