Fears are growing that Notts County could lose Sven Goran Eriksson over the growing uncertainty at the club.
It is believed the League Two club's Director of Football is seeking clarification on a number of issues about which he has concerns.
County have already lost defender Sol Campbell, who insisted he walked out of the club because of promises that were not kept.
Campbell left Meadow Lane after just one game last month and in another blow the Magpies have also lost Head of Communications Matt Lorenzo, just two weeks after appointing the broadcaster to handle their PR. Lorenzo walked out this week.
There is no suggestion that he has actually threatened to walk out on the club who remain under scrutiny by the Football League.
But that has not stopped the growing concerns about the former England boss whose departure would be a hammer blow for County.
Sven is due back in the country this weekend after a trip abroad. He is due to be a pundit for this Saturday's internet showing of Ukraine v England.
