Torres told to fight for his Chelsea place

Fernando Torres has been told to fight for his place against Manchester United.
Chelsea face the rampant Reds at Old Trafford on Sunday, with the champions and their City neighbours threatening to turn the league into a two-horse race.
But Torres, on the bench at Sunderland on Saturday, will get the chance to play against United by earning a recall in tomorrow’s Champions League game against Bayer Leverkusen. Torres has scored just onegoal in 23 appearances for Chelsea since his £50million move from Liverpool.
Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas insisted the decision to omit Torres – who played the last 17 minutes at Sunderland – in favour of Nicolas Anelka was part of his squad rotation.
Villas-Boas said: “We have four wonderful strikers and all compete for the position.
“All offer different things because they are different talents. The choice fell to Anelka. It’s nothing special, Fernando has been doing magnificently well in the last three games.”
