Football fans were fuming over a TV fault during last night's Euro 2008 semi-final.
The picture froze twice for millions of BBC1 viewers during Germany v Turkey live from Basle in Switzerland.
At the second hitch, they missed the German goal that made it 2-1. Technicians switched the sound to Radio Five Live.
Commentator John Murray said: "BBC1 viewers have lost pictures. Sorry for that."
When it happened again, an announcer blamed thundery storms in Austria.
The picture returned with minutes to spare and viewers re-joined BBC1's John Motson for the Turkish equaliser and a late German strike that gave them a 3-2 win.
