Footballer El-Hadji Diouf caused traffic chaos when his car broke down yesterday.

And the Sunderland striker's black Cadillac Escalade 4x4 just had to conk out at Newcastle's Tyne Bridge.

It was finally towed away, but only after a half-mile jam built up and Diouf, 27, had been spotted by rival fans.

Nigella Binman, 45, of South Shields, said: "It took me 45 minutes for a trip that should have taken only 15.

"I'm a Newcastle fan. He has some nerve breaking down that close to Newcastle..."
