Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger did not think his side deserved to lose as Fulham pulled off a shock result.
Wenger's side continued their unconvincing start to the season but the Gunners boss said: "It is harsh to lose the game, but it is fair to say Fulham played well.
"In the first half, in midfield we were dominated and not strong or quick enough - and we suffered. We tried very hard into the last second of the game - but we could not score.
"The players are very disappointed. But when you want to play at the top, you have to start a game better than we did - with more authority. We were punished."
Brede Hangeland, who scored Fulham's winner, is confident Roy Hodgson's team can beat anyone in the Premier League on this form.
"When we play our best like we did in the first half, it is possible to beat any team," said Hangeland (right).
"It's been a while since I scored so it's good to get one. We are really proud."
