GARETH SOUTHGATE will rescue James Milner from Newcastle if the England Under-21 winger finds himself out of favour next season.
The Boro boss could have a problem on the right side of midfield if Gary O'Neil - whose family have not settled in the North - quits and would pay £5m for Milner.
Boro keeper Mark Schwarzer will reject an offer from Juventus if he has to be No.2 to Gianluigi Buffon.
Southgate wants to keep Schwarzer, but he appears likely to go.
