Gavin McCann can be the new Kevin Nolan for Bolton, says Gary Megson

Gary Megson has backed Gavin McCann to plug the gap left by Kevin Nolan following Bolton's deadline day failure to sign a replacement for their former skipper.
Nolan's £3.5million switch to Newcastle last week has left Reebok boss Megson short on reinforcements in midfield, especially with moves for Portsmouth's Sean Davis and Sporting Lisbon star Miguel Veloso failing to come off.
But with former Everton and Aston Villa man Mc-Cann on course for a quick return from a month-long toe injury, Megson insists Bolton can cope.
He said: "We went for two players last week, so it was a disappointing not to get at least one of them in. But fortunately Gavin McCann will be back soon."
