Gianfranco Zola is tipping his former club Chelsea to beat Inter Milan and believes English football is far superior to the Italian game.
Zola spent a large part of his playing career in Serie A and knows more than most the quality that used to be spread through the top flight in Italy.
But the West Ham boss feels the tables have turned in the last 10 years and the Premier League has become the best in the world.
Zola, still idolised by Blues fans, said: “I think Chelsea have got a big advantage.
“The Premier League is probably more competitive than Serie A and has got a different speed and different quality. I want to see how Inter cope with that.
“Everybody is sharper - it’s as simple as that. Milan, Inter, Roma and Juventus are very good teams but not as sharp as the Premier League teams.”
