Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni has been assured of free food for life after leading the Boys in Green to Euro 2012.
The veteran Italian is sure of a warm welcome and plenty of free bruschetta, pasta and pizza at the Mamma Mia restaurant on Dublin’s Grattan Street.
Should Trap get peckish, he will be delighted to hear the restaurant is no more that a couple of kilometres from the Aviva Stadium.
Head chef Manuel Paschina said Trap is representing his native Italy with pride here in Ireland.
And the footie-mad cook said he can’t wait to see the Irish team take on mighty Italy at the Championships in Poland and the Ukraine next summer.
Manuel said: “I know about Trapattoni very well and love him like a lot of Italians do.
“He has done a brilliant job with the Irish team and as an Italian living and working in Ireland I am so proud of him for that.
“He is a great man and is representing all of us Italians so well.”
Mamma Mia’s owner Dubliner Ruth Dunne said: “We are thrilled Trap has brought Ireland to the Euros.
“We specialise only in Italian food so he would be right at home.”
