Harry Redknapp: As Tottenham manager I am in complete control

Harry Redknapp led Tottenham to their first win of the season - and then insisted: "I'm in complete control."
Tottenham boss Redknapp will be given a £20m fighting fund to spend in the January transfer market and he promised HE will decide who he signs.
Redknapp will raid former club Portsmouth with striker Jermain Defoe on his wanted list for a dramatic return together with Lassana Diarra.
It is a major shift in club policy for Tottenham as chairman Daniel Levy admitted defeat in his Continental structure after sacking manager Juande Ramos and his coaching staff along with sporting director Damien Comolli on Saturday night.
Redknapp was installed just hours before kick-off after quitting Portsmouth and admitted he was offered the job 18 months ago - and said if he'd turned it down again then he would he regretted it for the rest of his life.
"I wouldn't let anyone else buy my players," said Redknapp, who has signed a three-year deal worth a total of £9m. "I'm not going to ask the chairman to go and buy Ronaldo for me.
"But there'll be some players out there in January who he'll bring in for us. I'll just deal with the chairman, talk to Daniel. It'll be up for him to bring the players in.
"Tottenham are a big club. Whether they're languishing at the bottom of the league or not. I nearly went to Newcastle and people said I didn't want to take on the challenge of a big club.
"I could have come here maybe 18 months ago, in all honesty. I nearly came here, a long story, when Martin Jol was here. Things happened. The team started doing well.
"I took Portsmouth where I took them. Seventh in the league with a fantastic group of players, but financially things are a bit tight. Peter Storrie (chief executive) said it was a great opportunity, and he was right. I had to take it. It suits both parties.
"But our priority now has to be league points. We have to go up the table. After 20 minutes, I was thinking: 'How can this lot be bottom of the league?' The way they were fizzing the ball around.
"But the record before today was eight games, two points, so you're in trouble. We have to survive. Anything else is a bonus."
Redknapp allowed Clive Allen to pick the team but he got a standing ovation before kick-off and then took the manager's seat in the dug-out as he oversaw a victory thanks to goals from Roman Pavlyuchenko and Darren Bent's penalty.
But Redknapp has also set about bringing in his own staff with ex-Portsmouth assistant Kevin Bond about to be appointed at Tottenham.
Redknapp may review Ledley King's role as skipper unless he can prove his long-term fitness.
He wants to bring in two more coaches. He would like to give his son Jamie a chance but he was given a big new contract by Sky last season to stop him joining Chelsea.
Spurs are also considering free agent, Ghana skipper Stephen Appiah, as an emergency signing.
Tottenham will have to pay £15m in compensation to ex-boss Ramos, Gus Poyet and Marios Alvarez. Ramos, now set to return to Spain, admitted: "Results are what counts in football and we all know how this world works."
Bolton boss Gary Megson was jeered by his own fans during their defeat and appeared to mouth obscenities at the away end from the dug-out.
Megson said: "It doesn't really surprise me anymore. I don't really want to comment. The players have been talking about it in the dressing room and that's where it will stay."
