Harry Redknapp is anticipating the worldwide credit crunch will seriously affect the amount of transfers by Premier League clubs in the January window.
Ahead of Thursday's UEFA Cup clash with SC Braga, the Portsmouth boss openly admits he is concerned at the lack of his midfield options. But Redknapp is ready to resist the temptation to strengthen his squad in January, unless he can find a real bargain.
"I don't think many clubs will have a lot of money to spend in January, apart from maybe Manchester City and one or two others," he said.
"But as far as I am concerned I have not thought about January.
I am happy with the squad, and I don't really want to spend money if I don't have to."
