Hogan Ephraim hopes to be the latest Queens Park Rangers star to pull on an international jersey.
Top scorer Jamie Mackie is buzzing after making his Scotland bow in the Euro 2012 qualifiers. Now Ephraim is on Ireland’s radar after the Hoops’ unbeaten start.
Republic boss Giovanni Trapattoni will receive a report from scout Don Givens, the former Rangers striker, on his performance against Norwich today.
Ephraim said: “I qualify for England, Nigeria and Ireland but it will be easier to prove I’m worth a chance if we’re in the Premier League next season.”
Rangers have yet to let in a goal at home this season – but Norwich can’t stop scoring away. They have found the net in their last 32 away league matches and boss Paul Lambert said: “We never play with any fear when we go away from home.”
