Gus Poyet has pledged to stay at Brighton after revealing Wolves have attempted to take him to Molineux.
Poyet insists he is happy to mastermind a charge for the play-offs with the Seagulls, but made no secret of his desire to manage in the Premier League.
Wolves approached Brighton earlier this week as they bid to find a successor for Mick McCarthy, who was sacked after the 5-1 defeat to West Brom.
But after securing a deserved stalemate at the KC Stadium that keeps his troops three points off the play-off places, Poyet committed his immediate future to Brighton.
He said: "There was an approach from Wolves, but it came and went away very quickly.
"I'm not going to lie, I want to manage in the Premier League and I'm not going to wait 20 years.
"It wasn't difficult for me, I didn't have a decision to make. I was not involved at all and I'm happy with what happened.
"We all want to aim for the highest level but at the moment the easiest way over the next two years is to keep rising. If we don't, I need to move on.
"I'm very relaxed about it. I'm very lucky where I am and I'm not in a hurry because I signed a long-term contract. I want to be here."
Poyet is still unbeaten in the league in 2012 after goalkeeper Peter Brezovan recorded a welcome shut-out three days after his Anfield nightmare.
Seagulls keeper Brezovan was beaten six times against Liverpool - three of them own-goals - but was inspired to put the skids on Nick Barmby's charge for the play-offs.
Barmby's Tigers have now gone nearly ten hours without conceding a goal to equal an 104-year club record of six clean sheets in the league.
But his promotion chasers are also struggling to score them and the visitors clung on to make a swift recovery from their mauling at the hands of Kenny Dalglish.
Brezovan produced heroics to deny Matty Fryatt and Cameron Stewart before Tigers substitute Aaron Mclean missed a golden chance when he blazed over 13 minutes from time.
Barmby said: "It was just one of those nights when it was never going to go in. But the performance was still first class.
"We're still in a good position so we've got to keep going and chase down the pack ahead of us."
