Ipswich have agreed a fee of £750,000 for Sunderland keeper Marton Fulop.
Portman Road boss Roy Keane signed the Hungarian international for the Black Cats from Spurs for £900,000 four years ago.
Sunderland manager Steve Bruce said: “Marton is on the edge of joining Ipswich. He is talking terms.”
At the end of last season Fulop was on loan at Manchester City, deputising for the injured Shay Given.
