Sir Alex: Hernandez and Macheda can fire United to Premier League glory next season

Sir Alex Ferguson has backed rookie strikers Federico Macheda and Javier Hernandez to make an instant impact next season and launch Manchester United's bid to reclaim the Premier League title.
Macheda scored twice and Hernandez, making his United debut, found the back of the net with a superb lob as Fergie's men signed off on their US tour with a 5-2 win over the MLS All-Stars in Houston.

And with Wayne Rooney only just back in training after the World Cup and Michael Owen recovering from a hamstring injury, Fergie said Macheda, 18, and Hernandez, 22, would have a big role to play alongside Dimitar Berbatov when the season gets under way.
And Fergie singled out Mexico's World Cup sensation Hernandez, a £7million buy from Chivas who is nicknamed Chicharito - The Little Pea - as a player with the potential to take the Premier League by storm in his debut campaign with his blistering pace, impressive movement and eye for goal.
"The one thing that defenders always worry about is players with speed, players who will get into the space behind them," said Fergie. "His goal against the All-Stars gave an indication of that speed. The timing of his run - coming towards the ball and then spinning - shows he's going to be a threat to defenders, no question about that.
"Hernandez and Macheda give us the back-up we're going to need. We've got a decision on whether to let Danny Welbeck and Mame Biram Diouf go out on loan, although I'm starting to think about it again. If you add them to the other two young strikers, we're very healthy in that respect.
"I need to keep Macheda and I need to keep Hernandez, who has just joined the club. That's imperative. There's purpose in the way they play their football. It's not just talent. You don't play at this club with just talent, you need something else and they have that something else.
"How the combination with Wayne and Javier will work, I don't know. I think we'll need to adjust a little bit, because I think they could both be similar types of players. At the moment we will just assess Hernandez and try to bring him to a consistent level of form.
"He's still got little things to do, but not a great deal in terms of technique. Once he gets used to our training I think he will be okay. Macheda is probably the best player we have in terms of going through against the goalkeeper.
"He's outstanding at that. When he gets in those positions, I'm always confident. When he went through I expected him to score and he did. Chicharito's goal, bending the run and lobbing the goalkeeper, was very pleasing."
