Jermaine Jenas hopes to make his long-awaited Aston Villa debut "soon" after being stricken by injury since joining.
Villa boss Alex McLeish acclaimed Jenas' arrival on a season-long loan from Tottenham on deadline day.
But the England midfielder, who has 28 caps, has not kicked a ball competitively for the Midlands club.
He picked up a thigh injury days after joining and then needed surgery on an Achilles problem.
But Jenas, 28, has been given the green light to start his rehabilitation after seeing a specialist in London.
On his Twitter account, @JJenas8, he said: "Got the all clear from the specialist to start my rehab so hopefully I'll be back playin soon!"
