John Barnes sacked by Tranmere

Tranmere have sacked manager John Barnes after a disastrous start to the season which saw Rovers win only two of 11 league games.
Assistant Jason McAteer has alo been dismissed. The pair were allegedly dubbed 'Dumb And Dumber' by Tranmere players during their short spell in charge.
Liverpool legend Barnes, who gave up his role as Jamaica national coach to become boss at Prenton Park, now looks to be finished as a gaffer. His eight-month stint in charge of Celtic to early 2000 also ended in the axe after the Bhoys' infamous loss to then-minnows Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
The former England star's dismissal comes alongside news that Wycombe have parted company with ex-Three Lions caretaker manager Peter Taylor.
Barnes' departure was sparked by Tranmere's last league game, a 5-0 humiliation at Millwall and sealed by Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to League Two side Bury.
He has been in London for much of the past week undergoing media commitments and spoke to MirrorFootball.co.uk only yesterday, apparently not knowing his fate was being decided back up north.
Physio Les Parry has been placed in temporary charge and he will be assisted by reserve-team boss Shaun Garnett, with Tranmere not playing until Monday night against Stockport.
Chairman Peter Johnson said: "Unfortunately results have not gone our way this season and we are at the wrong end of the table. We must now focus on finding the best possible candidate to help us climb the division. I urge all supporters to get behind Les, Shaun and the team on Monday night when we play at home to Stockport County."
