Rio Ferdinand has entered the John Terry race row by accusing the FA of dragging their heels over the controversy.
The Manchester United defender tweeted yesterday: "Powers that be do make stands on certain issues I see." before adding the hashtag 'selective'.
The tweet had come an hour before FIFA again dismissed the FA's pleas to allow the England players to wear poppies on their shirts against Spain on Saturday.
Terry - accused of calling Ferdinand's brother a "black c***" - has been called up for England by coach Fabio Capello, with the full backing of the FA.
The England and Chelsea captain, who denies racism, could even play in Friday's friendly game against Spain as Everton defender Phil Jagielka is injured.
The prospect has drawn scathing criticism from fans and former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright has accused the FA of not being strong enough to stand up to Terry.
But while the FA have been accused of fudging the Terry issue, they have been steadfast in their bid to get FIFA to change their minds on poppies to commemorate Remembrance Day.
General Secretary Alex Horne wrote to FIFA earlier this week imploring them to change their minds on their original decision. FIFA have again refused.
Ferdinand is known to be unhappy at his brother's alleged treatment at the hands of Terry and is fully behind the complaint made by QPR to the FA last week.
The players' mother Janice is also known to have been left upset by the footage in which Terry uses words that her younger son is adamant he was unaware of until being alerted to them hours after Rangers' shock win over Chelsea.
Anton is understood to be meeting police this morning to discuss the controversy at the offices of his representatives in London.
Ferdinand Snr's United team-mate Patrice Evra is also awaiting the outcome of the FA's investigation into his complaint that the Liverpool striker Luis Suarez allegedly racially abused him.
Suarez denies the accusation and has suggested he may seek an apology from Evra if the case against him is not proved.
