John Terry has issued a public apology to Chelsea fans.
The Blues captain is in Dubai with wife Toni trying to repair his marriage following his affair with Vanessa Perroncel, the ex-partner of former Stamford Bridge team-mate Wayne Bridge.
But in his programme notes for the FA Cup clash with Cardiff yesterday, Terry expressed his regret to the Chelsea faithful who made the trip to Goodison Park last Wednesday and witnessed a 2-1 defeat.
He wrote: “Both Everton goals were my fault. I am big enough to take responsibility for that. Also, speaking to the lads afterwards, I know no-one went over to our fans on the far side of the ground so, on behalf of everyone, I apologise for that.
“The fans had travelled all the way up to Liverpool in midweek and we really appreciate that effort and support.”
